One way around this is to have someone pull you uphill just about 1/2" inorder to remove the tension and I bet you will be able to shift out of park. If not, you will have to chock the rear tires (Bricks or something of that nature) and jack one of the front tires off the ground and that will allow the tension on the parking maul to be released.
